Nike Go FlyEase x Doernbecher Freestyle "Chris"

As part of the Doernbecher Freestyle program, which gives young patients the opportunity to work with Nike designers, Chris created a one-of-a-kind collection that shares his message of courage and positivity. Reflecting his interest in visiting Japan one day, this special shoe features an artistic wave pattern, kimono-inspired wrap design and a fun graphic of Mount Fuji. Panda Power

The colorful pattern on the collar mimics a portal, as teleportation is the superpower that Chris would want most. The insole graphic teleports you to his favorite place—the beach—with footprints leading to Chris and a panda peeking out above the inner tongue. A panda paw on the heel tab is another nod to Chris' favorite animal.

Serious Smarts

With math being his favorite school subject, you can find the words "smarter than you think" printed on the sockliner.

Globe-Trotting Graphics

The red kimono lines wrapping Mount Fuji are inspired by Japan, the country Chris looks most forward to visiting someday. The wave pattern on the upper represents Chris's ideal day—one spent at the beach.

Doernbecher Freestyle Program

Since 2004, Nike’s Doernbecher Freestyle Program has raised nearly $37 million for OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. This special partnership gives young patients the opportunity to work with Nike designers to create their own collections of Nike and Jordan Brand sneakers, apparel and accessories. Their one-of-a-kind collections are then auctioned off at the program’s annual fundraiser—with every penny going to the children’s hospital.
