Inclusivity. Equality. Together. The Nike Cortez Be True celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. We redesigned one of our original Nike track shoe favorites with colorful Swoosh designs, rainbow-colored details and a silky smooth feel—meant to be bold, be seen and be true to oneself.

No Straight Lines

We reimagined the classic Cortez design with curvy stitched lines around the shoe that represent inclusivity.

Colorful Design

The colorful Swooshes on the sides, plus rainbow-inspired colors on the midsole promote symbols of fluidity and togetherness.

Shine On

The upper is made with soft, silk-like material that's comfortable, lightweight and adds a little shimmer to each step.

Cortez Origins

The Nike Cortez was designed in 1972 by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman to be lighter and more comfortable than any other. It quickly became the most popular running shoe in the country and has transformed into an unmistakable icon, woven into pop culture history.

Be True Origins

Be True started in 2012 as a grassroots effort led by Nike employees in the PRIDE Network seeking to build a company culture diverse in orientation, identity and expression. Since then, Nike has taken action to support the LGBTQIA+ community, recognizing that inclusive spaces in sport create a better world for all. This year, Nike recognized 18 organizations advancing the LGBTQIA+ community and provided them with a total of $625,000 in donations.
