Kahleah knows how to inspire. Even though a devastating car accident left her with multiple skull and facial fractures, she didn't let it get her down. In fact, she let her bright outlook on life grow even brighter. Her fun-filled Nike React Element 55 features vibrant colors and glittery materials because she wants to "brighten people’s days and help them stand out.” Other beacons of light gracing her shoe include silly emojis, a green ribbon symbolizing traumatic brain injuries and the initials of her family members.

Kahleah's Colors

The glistening watermelon pink and green colors combine with the glitter accented Swoosh and tie-dye-esque eyestays for a vibrant, Kahleah-inspired look. The bright design is representative of her shining personality—“I would cure everybody if I could," she says, "so that they could feel strong and happy.”

Kahleah's Team

The "K-STRONG" on the side echoes the rallying cry Kahleah's mom began while Kahleah was hospitalized. The mantra joins with the initials of her family members, letting Kahleah give thanks to those who helped her stay "K-Strong."

Kahleah's Dream

The scissors on the heel represent yet another way Kahleah wants to brighten the lives of others. Her dream—to open a salon so she can help others look and feel their best.

The Doernbecher Freestyle program, a partnership between Nike and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, allows a group of special patients who have triumphed over serious illnesses to design authentic Nike gear. As a national leader in medical research and education, Doernbecher has been helping heal children and families in the Oregon and Washington area since 1926.
